Seeking out low-tox living is something that will always be found at the core of Simply Rooted.
Environmental toxins and contaminants are quite literally surrounding us in all aspects of our lives... the food we eat, the personal products we apply, the clothes we wear, and the technology we use are just the start to our every-day exposures.

Okay, but what’s the big deal??
These very common and routine toxic exposures may seem to be in only small increments, but they quickly compound from the years of their daily use.
Our most common environmental toxins have been linked to several adverse health effects — showing correlations to significant harm and toxic effects on the body such as hormone imbalances, neurological symptoms, digestion issues, or even cancer — yet many people remain naive to even knowing they’re putting their body in repeated, direct contact with these significantly harmful toxins.
There are a variety of ways we come into contact with toxins. Though inhalation, topically through the skin, or ingesting into our system are the most well-known, the constant positive energies we’re surrounded by through our devices are also starting to show toxic effects on our bodies as well.
From our constant contact to pesticides or additives in our foods, chemicals in our household cleaners, parabens in our personal hygiene products or pharmaceuticals, and all other environmental toxins, it's no wonder why it's so common for us to suffer from toxic overload!
Our liver, kidneys, digestive tract, bladder, lymph and immune system make up our primary detox organs, and they work together in removing and eliminating toxins from our body. However, when levels accumulate and exceed our body's capacity to remove them, toxic overload begins to take way.
We each have our own capacity when it comes to handling exposure. But often our "toxic bucket" will become so full that it begins to overflow — meaning our bodies cannot keep up in detoxing. That's when we may start to feel toxic overload symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, skin issues like acne or rashes, or retaining liquids leading to chronic bloating…
Other commonly seen symptoms of toxic overload include:
Lethargy
Inability to focus
Sleep troubles
Inflammation
Pain
Skin issues
Hot flashes
GI discomfort
Excessive stress
Disruption of hormones
Immunity weakness
Contribute to asthma
Cause cell mutation, tumors, cancer, nerve damage, blindness, and sterilization
Contribute to learning disorders and developmental impairments
Woah, this all is starting to feel a bit overwhelming…
The main point is this:
Though there are a million diets to try, chemicals to eliminate, supplements to add, and detoxes to do, the most progress we'll see comes from the consistency of our daily routines.
Though we can't always escape the toxins in our environment, the busyness that some life seasons bring, or the less-than-ideal food decisions we make all too often, it's time we start to take ownership of our health and the areas we can control... because I really am convinced that it's all about finding a consistent balance in our day-to-day.
Supporting your body's natural detoxification process is a huge way you can enable it to work optimally. Your body is constantly working FOR YOU to rid itself of the toxins you are constantly coming into contact with.
That's why I wrote this blog post: 6 Simple Ways to Promote Natural Detox Daily!
Simplifying your lifestyle to limit toxic exposure, while implementing daily practices to promote natural detoxification, doesn't have to be overwhelming. But it's time we stop taking the "naive is bliss" approach to our health and take ownership of the areas of our life we have control over!
